About these terms
In short: by making a video or an account on astro.video, you agree to these terms.
These terms apply to the website at astro.video, your account, and every video you order. “We” and “us” means astro.video; “you” means the person using the site. If you use astro.video for someone else, for example to make a video as a gift, you agree to these terms on their behalf as far as their details are concerned.
You need to be at least 18 to create an account or pay. If you are younger, a parent or guardian must order for you.
What we make
In short: software turns your birth details into a narrated video. Nobody hand-writes it.
astro.video makes personalised astrology videos. From the birth details you enter, your chart is calculated by AstrologyAPI. Our software then writes a script from that chart, a synthetic voice narrates it, and the video is rendered in the style you chose. Every step is automated.
Because each video is generated for you, no two are the same, and we can’t promise that a video will match a sample word for word. The samples on our site show the style, structure and depth you can expect.
Astrology is for reflection
In short: enjoy your reading, but don’t make medical, legal, financial or safety decisions from it.
Astrology is a tradition of interpretation, not a science that predicts events. Your video is for personal insight and entertainment. It is not medical, psychological, legal, financial or relationship advice, and it doesn’t replace a qualified professional.
Compatibility and kundli-matching videos describe how two charts relate in astrological terms. They are not a judgment of any person or relationship, and should never be a reason to pressure, exclude or harm anyone.
Your account
In short: keep your sign-in to yourself; you are responsible for what happens under it.
- You can sign in with an email and password, a one-time code sent to your email or Indian mobile number, or Google.
- Keep your password and codes private. Tell us straight away if you think someone else has used your account.
- You can also order without an account using just your email. The video is then tied to that email address.
Birth details you give us
In short: only enter someone else’s birth details if they are happy for you to.
Your reading is only as accurate as the date, time and place you enter. We calculate from what you give us and can’t check it.
For a compatibility video, or a video made for someone else, you will enter another person’s birth details and possibly their name. You confirm that you have their permission, or that they would reasonably expect you to share them for this purpose.
Prices and payment
In short: one price per video, fixed when you create it, paid once. Today’s prices are early-bird prices and will rise later.
- Videos are a short (under a minute), 3 minutes or 6 minutes long, priced as shown on our pricing page and before you pay. Customers in India pay in rupees; everyone else pays in US dollars. For several videos, family videos or other lengths, contact us for a price.
- Our current prices are early-bird prices for our launch, and they will go up later. A price rise never applies to a video you have already created.
- The price is fixed when you create your video. If our prices change before you pay, you still pay the price you were shown.
- Payments are processed by Razorpay and Paytm in India and by Stripe elsewhere. Their own terms apply to the payment itself. We never see or store your full card details.
- Your video starts once the payment provider confirms the payment to us. An unpaid video stays in your dashboard until you pay for it or it is removed.
Delivery
In short: usually within 5–6 hours, always within 24, by email and in your dashboard.
When your video is ready we send it to the email address on your order, and it appears in your dashboard. We try to deliver every video within 5–6 hours of payment, and you are sure to get it within 24 hours.
Refunds
In short: full refund if we don’t deliver or the video is broken; no refund for disliking the reading.
You get a full refund, to the way you paid, if:
- we can’t make your video, or it hasn’t arrived within 7 days of payment; or
- the video is faulty: it won’t play, the narration or captions are missing, or it uses details other than the ones you entered.
Ask for a refund through our contact page within 30 days of payment, from the email you ordered with or while signed in, and tell us which video it is. For a faulty video we may offer to make it again first; if you’d rather have your money back, you can choose that.
Because every video is made for you from your own details, we can’t refund a video that was delivered as ordered because you disagree with the reading or chose the wrong length, style or language. Refunds usually reach you within 5–10 working days, depending on your bank.
Your video
In short: keep it, download it and share it with anyone, but don’t sell it.
Once you have paid, you may keep, download and share your video for personal, non-commercial use, including posting it on your own social accounts. Please don’t sell it, use it in advertising, or present it as your own product.
The styles, animations, illustrations, music and software behind the video remain ours or our licensors’. We won’t use your video, or anything in it, publicly (for example as a sample on our site) without asking you first.
Fair use
In short: use astro.video as a customer, not as a target.
Please don’t:
- use the site to harass, shame or discriminate against anyone, including through their chart;
- enter details you have no right to use, or impersonate someone else;
- try to break, overload, scrape or reverse-engineer the site, or get around its limits;
- resell videos or access to the service.
We may refuse an order or close an account that breaks these rules. If we close an account for any other reason, we refund any paid videos that haven’t been delivered.
Privacy
In short: we use your details to make and deliver your video, and for nothing else. No ads, no trackers, no selling.
What we keep. Your email or mobile number; the birth details you enter (and your partner’s, for a compatibility video); your order and payment records (not card numbers); and any message you send us through the contact or feedback pages.
Who helps us. We share only what each service needs to do its job: Cloudflare hosts the site and stores our data; AstrologyAPI calculates charts; AI services write and narrate the script; Razorpay, Paytm and Stripe take payments; Resend sends emails and MSG91 sends SMS codes; Google suggests birth places as you type, serves our fonts, and signs you in if you choose Google.
Cookies. We set one cookie to keep you signed in. Your browser also remembers a few preferences, such as the day or night sky. There are no advertising or analytics trackers.
On screen. Your birth date, time and place are hidden in your video unless you choose to show them.
Your choices. You can ask us for a copy of your data, to correct it, or to delete your account and videos, through the contact page. We keep payment records as long as tax law requires, even after deleting an account.
Our responsibility
In short: if something goes wrong, the most we owe you is what you paid for that video.
We work to keep astro.video running and your videos correct, but the site is provided “as is”, and we can’t promise it will always be available or free of errors.
As far as the law allows, we aren’t responsible for decisions you make based on a reading, or for indirect losses. Our total responsibility for any video is limited to the amount you paid for it. Nothing in these terms limits rights you have as a consumer that can’t be limited by law.
Changes and ending
In short: if these terms change, we’ll say so here and won’t apply new terms to videos you’ve already paid for.
We may update these terms as the service changes. The date at the top shows the latest version. If a change matters for you, we’ll also tell you by email. Videos you have already paid for stay under the terms that applied when you paid.
You can stop using astro.video at any time, and ask us to delete your account.
Law and disputes
In short: talk to us first; Indian law applies.
If something isn’t right, please contact us first. Most problems are solved quickly that way. These terms are governed by the laws of India, and any dispute that can’t be settled between us will be decided by the courts of India.
